You can choose to direct your unlocked $1,000 towards one of the following PETA funds:
Investigations & Rescue Fund
PETA’s Investigations & Rescue Fund program supports undercover investigations to expose cruelty and animal abuse and gives us the resources we need to rescue animals from horrific conditions. PETA U.S. has carried out more undercover investigations than all other animal protection organizations combined.
Global Compassion Fund
PETA’s Global Compassion Fund supports rapid-response and relief programs, including supplying urgent veterinary care and supplies to animal victims of hurricanes, earthquakes, conflicts, and other crises, such as the war in Ukraine. The Global Compassion Fund also powers worldwide spay/neuter campaigns that are effectively addressing the homeless-animal crisis in places like India, the Philippines, and Romania.
Science, Technology and Innovation Fund
PETA’s newly created Science, Technology, and Innovation Fund helps us use game-changing innovations to prevent millions of animals from suffering. This groundbreaking work helps PETA scientists, campaigners, researchers, and others who are helping create a brighter future for animals.
With the support of this fund, our scientists develop and promote the use of more modern, human-relevant research methods that will keep animals out of laboratory cages. The fund is also helping advance our work in new ways by helping some of the biggest names in the clothing industry replace skins, feathers, and fur in their lines.

A gift in your will or trust or by beneficiary designation signifies your long-standing commitment to animals as we work to make the world a kinder place for animals. Here are some ways to create a future gift that will make a difference and join the Legacy of Kindness Challenge.
Gifts in Your Will or Trust
There are several simple ways to include a gift in your will. To provide a percentage of your estate, use the following language:
I, [NAME], of [CITY, STATE ZIP], hereby give, devise, and bequeath to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Inc., federal tax identification number 52-1218336, with the permanent address of P.O. Box 42516, Washington, DC 20015, _____percent (____%) of my total estate, determined as of the date of my death for its unrestricted use and purpose.
Other options include:
A specific bequest is a gift of a specific sum of money or an item of property. For example, “I give a sum of $25,000 to PETA,” or “I give my antique desk to my niece, Sarah.”
Another common way of leaving a gift to charity while leaving the majority of assets to loved ones is a residuary bequest: “I give the balance of my estate (or some percentage of the remainder of my estate), after all other bequests are satisfied, to PETA.”
A contingent bequest is a gift made on condition that a certain event occurs. This kind of bequest is often used to leave gifts to charity. For example, “I give $25,000 to my friend Christina if she survives me—or, if not, to PETA.”
Gifts by Beneficiary Designation
Naming PETA as a beneficiary on bank accounts, retirement accounts, insurance policies, donor-advised funds, and other assets costs you nothing, takes only minutes and is a powerful way to create your legacy for animals. To take the next step, complete a beneficiary designation form from your fund’s administrator.
To designate PETA as a beneficiary of a qualified retirement plan or other financial account, please use the following information:
Legal name: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Inc.
Address: P.O. Box 42516, Washington, DC 20015
Federal Tax ID number: 52-1218336
